SILVANA LIKA
I was born in Albania where I lived until I finished high school. I then moved to Tunisia where I earned one Bachelor’s and two Master’s Degrees in Psychology: one focused on Research and the other in Applied Clinical Psychology. All studies were in French.
Part way through my doctoral studies I moved to the United States. My first job here was as a teacher’s assistant in a kindergarten classroom at the bilingual International School of Boston. I enjoyed the experience and decided to pursue a career in teaching. I earned my Master’s Degree at Lesley University in 2012 and I am certified as a Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities PreK-2.
I did my student teaching at Glover School with an inspirational teacher, Mrs. Shapiro. After being home with my children for a few years I returned as a substitute teacher and fulfilled two long-term assignments in first grade at Glover and Bell school. This year I am thrilled to be back at Glover teaching first graders again.
